What is Glide Wax?
Ski bases are created from plastic polyethylene and created with a method termed sintering. The sintering allows the ski bases to act like a sponge to the wax that is applied to them. A glide wax is selected based on snow temperature, as well as the crystal structure and relative humidity of the snow. Softer ski waxes are used for warm temperatures. Hard waxes which resist the snow crystals are used for colder temperatures.
